Office bearers and committee members needed

At the AGM in January there were no nominations for the role of Convenor. Since then, the Treasurer has resigned for personal reasons. There are only three ordinary committee members.

This means the club has no properly constituted Management Committee, a situation that is unsustainable.

Members are asked to consider taking on the roles of Convenor, Treasurer or ordinary Committee Member. Please don’t be afraid to put yourself forward. Be assured you won’t be dropped in at the deep end: outgoing office holders will provide support and guidance.

Convenor

The Convenor should be keenly interested in coastal rowing and able to provide the club with leadership and vision. To be effective the Convenor needs to be supported by a committee of enthusiastic members.

Treasurer

This role requires an ability to manage figures using a spreadsheet and some knowledge of how to record income and expenditure. Previous Treasurer Ian Watson has taken over as Acting Treasurer and will provide a handover period.

Committee members

This is a good way to get involved in club management and organisation, providing advice and support on the wide range of matters associated with running the club, eg skiff maintenance and repair, equipment purchasing, participating in regattas, keeping the clubhouse and pontoon tidy, litter picking etc.

How to get involved

If you’re interested or would like to discuss any of these roles further just drop an email to admin@rowglasgow.co.uk by 17th March 2023.

What next?

If there are no nominations by 17 March, an An EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) will be called for mid April and a motion will proposed for the club to be wound up.
